Green League: Green Sport Activity Day

Green League: Green Sport Activity Day

Recently, we successfully conducted the Green Sports Day event in collaboration with sport club Sele-Vrhe, which brought together members of the local recreational club for an active gathering in nature. We delved into the natural element of air through various sports activities.

Ten participants competed in beach volleyball, badminton, tennis, soccer, and archery. The Green Sports Day also provided an opportunity for intergenerational learning, reflection, and collaboration among all participants. The sports activities took place in a small sports center by the lake, surrounded by forest, enhancing the participants’ connection with nature.

Discussions about nature, environmental impact, the “leave no trace” principle, and other environmental challenges added an educational aspect to our event. Participants showed interest in environmental education, outdoor ethics, and the role they play in encouraging others to engage in outdoor sports and environmental conservation.

We thank all participants for an inspiring day in nature, which strengthened their connection with the environment and emphasized the importance of a healthy lifestyle and environmental preservation for future generations.

The event was organised as part of the Green League project.

Green League: Clean Air Hike

Green League: Clean Air Hike

In September, we teamed up with the Sele-Vrhe sports club to host the successful “Clean Air Hike” event, which brought together hiking enthusiasts, nature lovers, and advocates of a sustainable lifestyle. The goal of the event was to raise awareness about air pollution and promote eco-friendly practices through a hiking experience.

Sustainable Hiking: We arranged a guided hike with a focus on minimal pollution and sustainable practices. The event was open to all generations, including families.

Learning and Discussion: In addition to enjoying the beautiful scenery, participants received information about air pollution, low-impact hiking practices, and the importance of environmental conservation. Discussions followed on staying on marked trails, reducing noise pollution, and proper waste disposal.

Responsible Hiking: We emphasized the importance of responsible interaction with nature and the environment. Participants were encouraged to adopt the principle of “leave no trace,” highlighting the significance of responsible hiking.

Inspiration for Sustainable Choices: The event served as inspiration for sustainable habits. Participants reflected on their carbon footprint, noise pollution impact, and preserving natural habitats. Based on the event’s encouragement, participants could make sustainable decisions for their everyday lives.

The “Clean Air Hike” was more than just a hike; it was a step towards awareness, responsibility, and sustainable living. By combining natural beauty with a sustainable message, we created an unforgettable experience that will surely leave a lasting impression on the hearts of all participants.

The event was organised as part of the Green League project.

Green League: Swimming with the Dolphines

Green League: Swimming with the Dolphines

The paraplegic group “Dolphins” participated in a humanitarian swimming marathon for people with disabilities called “With Heart Against Barriers 2023”. The participation of the paraplegic swimmers was part of the Green League project, which aims to raise public awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and climate change. During this event, Dolphines engaged in discussions to address the pressing issue of climate change and its consequences, notably the recent floods that affected a significant part of Slovenia.

After three days of interaction, we parted ways with a heightened awareness that we have a long way to go in adopting more sustainable and responsible practices in our interactions with nature and the environment.
